Education and Training
Welcome!
The Center for Education and Training serves as the mechanism for all educational opportunities through the Institute for Global Health. The Center for Education and Training facilitates all bilateral opportunities for trainees (students, faculty, residents, international collaborators and trainees). The Center provides a mechanism for exchange of faculty scholars from Upstate Medical University to identified international platforms and universities by helping to establish official MOU’s and agreements. We work to secure grant and other philanthropic funds to sustain global health educational activities on campus (internal SUNY funds, American society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Benjamin Kean Fellowship, Consortium of Universities for Global Health). The Center also works to identify, develop, and evaluate learning opportunities within the Institute platforms and beyond. Students who are engaged with the Institute are provided with training material for global health education, faculty mentorship, and a dedicated team to assist with the development and execution of a research proposal during their global health rotation. In addition to bilateral training opportunities, the Center for Education and Training also facilitates global health journal clubs, a Student for Global Health Club, seminars and symposia on campus.
