The Upstate Global Health Institute is exploring how different CYP2D6 genetic makeups (phenotypes) affect how your body converts (metabolizes) Tafenoquine to its active form. People can have a phenotype of poor, intermediate, normal or ultra metabolizers. We will test a single dose of FDA-approved Tafenoquine, named ARAKODA, in participants with different CYP2D6 phenotypes. ARAKODA is usually taken multiple times before, during and after travel to an area where there is malaria. In this study, you will only take one dose, however, this dose is higher than the dose you would be taking if you were following the current FDA approved dosing
