Samantha Gallup-Peltier, AAS, RN
IP Prep, Research RN
Samantha Gallup-Peltier began her highly anticipated initiation into the research community in December 2024. With a profound interest in public health and a rich background in both adult and pediatric medicine, Samantha has excelled in home-care and inpatient settings. Her unwavering passion lies in pediatric care, though she deeply values the importance of adult medicine practitioners.
Starting her nursing career at Upstate University's downtown campus in 2014, Samantha initially worked in adult surgery. However, she quickly realized her true calling was in pediatrics. She transitioned to the pediatric medicine floor, where she gained invaluable knowledge from her mentors.
Samantha then moved into home care case management, eventually becoming a clinical supervisor. In this role, she coordinated care among specialists, caregivers, infusion companies, and DME providers, all while delivering skilled nursing care to chronically ill pediatric patients across four counties. Her dedication to quality and process improvement led her to a Quality Manager position, where she developed a deep appreciation for regulatory requirements in healthcare.
In her current role as a research nurse with the Global Health Institute, she aims to integrate her diverse skills and experiences. She is committed to marrying clinical research with the specific needs of the communities in the greater Syracuse area. When she's not working, you can likely find her on a local beach volleyball court, paddleboarding, playing board games, camping in many of the beautiful state parks of Upstate New York, or simply spending time outdoors with her family and friends.
