Kelley Mooney

IP Prep, Research RN

Kelley Mooney is a native of Syracuse and lived in Philadelphia for many years where she obtained a BA in Health and Societies with a Global Health concentration from the University of Pennsylvania in 2012. Post undergrad, she worked for a while in patient coordination for an outpatient neurosurgical facility where she became more interested in nursing and eventually pursued a BSN in a second-degree program from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. Kelley ended up moving back to Syracuse shortly after the start of the COVID pandemic as a newer nurse and worked bedside locally on a med-surg/oncology unit for almost 4 years. Looking for a change and the chance to get involved with research, Kelley is excited to join the Global Health Institute as a clinical research nurse, which nicely ties in with her original undergrad background and interest in public health. In her free time, Kelley enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and spending time outside at one of the beautiful local parks or recreation/trail locations in CNY.
